Slept through the night with a little help from Ambien (generic equivalent)

Our apartment is across the Vistula River from Old Town (25 minute walk)
Interesting building across the street
It's called Cricotecka and dedicated to Tanduesz Kantor
Noted for his revolutionary tension-producing stage performances
No idea about his work but the building is cool
Built over the remains of a power plant - reflected in the mirror panels underneath

Started towards Old Town but found ourselves at Wawel Castle
As we entered a classroom was leaving - in matching yellow hats
It's cloudy, 50s, no wind, occasional drops of rain
No problem
Tickets purchased for the areas you visit - entrances are timed
All signage and tours in Polish and English
Our tour was predominantly Norwegians, an Australian and French family
We were the only Americans

Wawel Palace is Italian Renaissance with Polish modifications - like no flat roofs

Atop the castle complex is a cathedral
Chopin's tomb in an underground crypt
Among knights, kings and queens

Late lunch: wood-fired pizza & celery soup with smoked fish (tasty), water (still) -$13

Returned to the apartment for a rest
Our legs like rubber (jet lag)

Then up and moving forward....
Went to Schindler's Factory (immortalized by the movie Schindler's List). Corridors one person wide with large groups of high school students inside. The ticket ladies kept selling. We finally found the exit and rushed outside - free at last.

Returned to Jewish Quarter for our evening Zywiec (local brew) and an appetizer of bacon-wrapped plums

Fortunate with the weather and having only a few drops of rain, but we're prepared. And our apartment has umbrellas. (It has everything.)
